School Visits:

We are always happy to welcome school visits. Please let us know the date and time of your planned visit in advance. All accompanied children receive free entry, and a small donation on behalf of the adults is appreciated to support the work of the Museum.  Please be aware that pupils need to be supervised at all times  when visiting the Museum. We recommend splitting your class into small groups during the visit.

We have a number of activities which can be used during your visit, as well as those which can be explored back in the classroom. All link with the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence and can be found in the  PDF  below.
Any questions, please contact us at: info@castlehousemuseum.org.uk.

Educational Loan Box:

Thanks to support from  Argyll and Bute Council's 'Supporting Communities Fund,' we have created an educational loan box. Our ‘History Hunters’ box contains ten exciting objects related to home life in the past for young people to explore. Each object has a card with information and questions, and there are suggested activities too. It is best suited for children at the Second Level of the Curriculum for Excellence, but the activities can be adapted to suit other age groups. The guide for the box is available in the PDF below and contains further information. â€‹â€‹â€‹â€‹This box can be borrowed independently. Our Museum team can deliver a free activity session for your classroom or group- Please get in touch with us at info@castlehousemuseum.org.uk to arrange this. Our thanks go out to Argyll and Bute Council  for supporting this project.
