Victorian Christmas 2019

Updated: Mar 17, 2022

This year we opened our doors for our first ever Victorian Christmas event. It was hard work but the volunteers and managers worked as a team to make it happen. A lot of greenery was needed to create some of the spectacular displays shown in the photographs and by the end of it our gardens and families gardens looked a bit bare but it was worth it to see the transformation in the end.

The museum was alive with the sound of children and adults alike having fun and enjoying the entertainment, food and drink. The Museum wasn’t the only one to get a victorian festive makeover, the volunteers dressed the part too.

The mince pies and mulled wine supplied by Craig Wilson of Ingrams Bar received many compliments from visitors. The orange garnishing was a lovely touch. A very big thank you Craig for going above and beyond.

The event would not have been a success without the support of the local community. Thank you to everyone who braved the weather to see the Museum all dressed up. Also a massive thank you to the Pearce family for the temporary loan of their tree, The Real Santa who the kids just loved, the Carol singers who filled the Museum with the sound of Christmas, Margaret Hubbard who told a wonderful Christmas story and not forgetting the hardworking volunteers and managers who brought it all together. We will hopefully see you all again next year.
