Shopkeepers-of-Dunoon

We are delighted to have assisted with the creation of this street-long exhibition celebrating the heritage and people of Dunoon’s Argyll Street. The heritage trail, available from 14th to 23rd June, includes many artefacts and images from our collection and tells the story of Argyll Street through the lives of the shopkeepers and the history of the shops themselves. Items are displayed in shop windows and along the street.

You can collect a map of the Heritage Trail from Castle House Museum, an ideal place to start. The Museum is open 10 am – 4 pm Mon – Sat and admission is £3 for adults and £2.50 for concessions (we now accept card payments). Kids go free!

The exhibition has been organised by a partnership formed between Argyll & Bute Council’s CARs initiative and TACIT_TACIT, a design and research agency. It is part of the Architectural Fringe Programme 2019 and contributes to the development of the peopleofplace.org.uk
